Since Black no longer has the possibility of... c5, this is clearly the best square for the bishop. Other diagonals hold less promise:

a) 11 Ab2 d5 12 c5 Axf3! 13 Axf3 £>d7 14 a3 Af6 = Zurakhov-Vishomirskis, USSR 1955.

b) 11 Aa3 is interesting. Black's best defence is probably 11 ... Axf3 12 Axf3 Af6 13 £ie2 2e8, following up with ... d5. Alternatively, he might try an immediate ... d5, answering 12 Axe7 Wxe7\ 13 cd with 13 ... £>xd5! 14 £ixd5 ed, with equality.

c) 11 d5 doesn't work, either before or after h3 and Ah5. Consider 11 h3 Ah5 12 d5 ed 13 £>xd5 £ixd5 14 »xd5 Af6! 15 HTxh5 Axal 16 Ag5 Af6 17 Ad3 g6 18 tSTh4 Axg5 19 £>xg5 h5 20 g4 £he5 and Black has a decisive advantage.
